*WHAT IS NLP ?
(Neurolinguistic- Programming) “… each person, through genetic makeup, environmental influences, and individual biochemistry, has managed to program herself or himself to be excellent, mediocre or awful at certain things. Through observation and listening to how a person behaves and communicates linguistically, we can understand how, neurologically a person puts his or her experience together…” Once understood a client can be coached on how to change their “programming.” Shelli Rose Charvet

NLP CAN HELP RESOLVE A REMOTE OR RECENT TRAUMA
MOST PEOPLE WILL EXPERIENCE AT LEAST ONE OR MORE TRAUMAS IN THEIR LIFETIME
Numerous case studies have found that people with traumatic memories have a mental picture “movie” that continually loops back to the beginning. They are constantly rehearsing the event. NLP Coaching/Brief Therapy can break the pattern. The client will still remember the event but without the extreme emotional feelings that were associated with it. (Appropriate for returning veterans.)
ALTHOUGH OFTEN FORGOTTEN; A TRAUMA CAN MORPH INTO AN ALLERGY OR A PHOBIA
Allergies and phobias are frequently “unconsciously paired” with an unpleasant experience or trauma. The allergen then, “substitutes” for the experience to be avoided. There is a saying: “Most people would rather die than speak in public."
NLP CAN HELP WITH OVERCOMING A PHOBIA.
By locating the trauma (or negative experience) that is linked to a phobia, a “pattern interrupt” can be accomplished. You will remember that you used to be afraid of flying (or spiders), etc. – but no longer have those anxious feelings. Your behavior in future situations with the “old” phobic activity or object can be more appropriate and comfortable.

NLP CAN HELP YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT SPEAKING IN PUBLIC
Modeling has revealed that most people who have performance anxiety are seeing a “picture” (that they are unaware of) when they think about the activity of being the center of attention. By helping you to access and “change the picture” –you may find that you are now able to speak in public comfortably.
